A fun Interactive American Music History School Assembly for TK–6 Students

250 Years of American Music

About the 250 Years of American Music School Assembly

250 Years of American Music is a fast-paced, funny, and educational school assembly that takes elementary (TK–6) students on a musical journey through 250 years of American history. As the United States approaches its Semiquincentennial in 2026, this live program offers a unique and engaging way for students to experience the story of America through music.

Performed by the acclaimed Razzle Bam Boom duo, this interactive assembly brings to life the cultural roots of America’s most influential music genres—including jazz, blues, rock ‘n’ roll, folk, country, bluegrass, Mexican-American and Hawaiian music, as well as zydeco, western, and patriotic classics.

Through live music, humor, and audience participation, students discover how music reflects America’s cultural diversity, regional identity, and key moments in history—making learning both meaningful and memorable.
